Attendance Policy for 5-D
Vacation Days/Absences/Tardiness
Following District policy, I will not be able to give students work before family vacation days/weeks (outside the normal academic calendar). These days will be treated as “UNEXCUSED ABSENCES”, and will be marked accordingly. If students are sick please keep your child home so they will not affect others, and call the school the morning of illness. If a child is ill for extended periods of time, a doctor’s note will be needed upon return to school. Any student who misses school during MCAS testing will need a doctor’s note. Thank you for your help and support in following these new policies. Please be aware that school starts promptly at 8:45 A.M.; please ensure that your child is here on time daily. A healthy breakfast, snack, and adequate sleep are strongly encouraged. While I am empathetic to parents’ schedules, I respectfully ask parents to schedule doctor’s and dentist’s appointments for their children after school hours or over school vacations. If you are taking your child out of school (for a family vacation or doctor's visit) a note or email should be sent to the school to notify us. Thank you for understanding.
